We purchased these smart lights for our 3-inch railing posts and could not be happier. Although the lights are not designed for 3-inch posts, with a little DIY and some glue, it looks great!
They give off plenty of light and there are a lot of cool features!

I absolutely love these Lumineer Smart Solar Post Lights!
The downward glow lights up our porch steps at night perfectly.
I love the color-changing options - right now we set them to a warm yellow to match our existing lights, but come Christmas I'll definitely be using the red/green options. You can even program them to alternate colors back and forth.
